The RS24/10-R rear shock absorber for maxi scooters is composed of a single body crossed by a newly developed hydraulic circuit which allows all the adjustments to be integrated while maintaining the same dimensions as the original shock absorber. Without decreasing the general sizing of the hydraulic brake.
The shock absorber is equipped with 4 adjustments:
1 - Wheelbase adjustment.
Rotate to change the height of the rear axle - 2mm + 8mm compared to the original.
2 - Extension adjustment, to vary the brake when reopening the shock absorber.
3 - Adjustment of the spring preload to increase or decrease the "initial" load of the shock absorber and consequently determine the greater or lesser initial stiffness of the system, i.e. the efforts necessary to put the suspension into operation by regulating the agility, handling and stability of the vehicle.
4 - Compression adjustment to manage the closing brake of the shock absorber and vary its behavior in relation to the roughness of the ground. It is possible to set a stiffer but more stable sports setting or a softer and more comfortable touring setting. The adjustment works at low damping speeds, i.e. during the operation of the shock absorber in curves or in shallow potholes. At high speeds, however, when, for example, you face pronounced potholes, perhaps on a straight line, a brake made up of a 20mm sintered piston with an ad hoc calibrated valve pack intervenes.
The RS24/10-R is equipped with two nitrogen tanks for rod compensation. This system allows you to completely modify the load curves according to the pressure of each chamber or the movement methods during the compression and extension phases and guarantees greater compactness to the shock absorber compared to the system with a single external reservoir, less friction and greater dispersion of the heat produced by the operation of the system.
